Working modes

Aximo supports personal feeds and posting to public and private groups or channels.

👤 Private mode

By default, all notifications from your data sources will be sent as direct messages between you and Aximo. If that's what you are looking for, you can simply add your first data source.

👥 Channel and Group Mode

Aximo can also forward messages to your channel or group. To activate this mode, please follow the instruction below!

Adding Aximo to Your Group or Channel

  1. Open your Telegram client.
  2. Search for the user @AximoBot (see note below).
  3. Open Aximo's profile, click the three-dot menu in the top right corner, and select the "Add to Group" option. Then, choose your group.
  4. Congratulations! You've added Aximo to your group.

Note

During Step #2, you may see other bots or users with similar names or usernames. Make sure you only add the bot with the username @AximoBot—others are imposters!

Granting Administrator Rights

Once you have added Aximo to your group or channel, there's still more to do! Aximo won't be able to post any messages until you grant it admin rights, but this can be done easily.

  1. Click the banner at the top of your group/channel to view information.
  2. Click the pencil icon to edit your group/channel settings.
  3. Click Administrators then Add Administrator
  4. Select Aximo from the list of users.
  5. Grant Post Messages in rights list and click the checkmark icon to confirm.
  6. Congratulations! You've now unlocked Aximo’s full potential!

Activate Chat Mode

To configurate your group/channel settings and add some data sources you need to activate chat mode. You have two options to do it:

  • The easiest way is forward any of your messages from the channel to Aximo
  • Mention Aximo by sending @aximobot in the channel or the group. In response Aximo will sent you command to control specific channel or group.

Warning

Only administrators of the group or channel can activate chat mode. Otherwise Aximo will ignore your message

Now you can add your first data source which will be forward to your group or channel.

🔀 Switching between modes

You can manually control working mode by sending commands in private messages with Aximo.

/chat <channel_username|group_username|channel_id|group_id>

Topic supports

If you your group supports topics can add parameter and set topic which will be used as a default to deliver messages

Activate chat mode for group @madbots_talk and set topic #1 as default
/chat madbots_talk 1
